Following recent training days held in October 2008 at the joint AFI / IRE conference and in Western Australia in March 2009, the IRE is continuing the focus on training at the upcoming conference in September 2009.
Two days of technical sessions are planned with the broad objective of introducing the IRE to industries that use refractory materials and facilitating knowledge sharing by networking with refractory service providers and other industrial users from across Australasia.
Once again, the IRE is joining with the Australian Foundry Institute at the 2009 AFI Breaking the Mould conference at the MCG on September 27-30. The venue alone should entice many delegates to attend and the conference, facilities and accompanying exhibition will also be first class.
I would commend all IRE members and refractory users to attend the conference and also consider presenting a paper - there is certainly something all refractory users could share with others to enhance the training base and disseminate knowledge.
I look forward to seeing many IRE members, AFI colleagues and those interested in learning more about refractories technology at this prestigious conference.
